A Note on Interactive Theorem Proving with Theorem Continuation Functions
نویسنده
چکیده
A simple technique for using theorem continuation functions interactively with HOL's sub-goal package is presented. An interesting aspect of the technique is that it hinges on the existence of assignable variables in ML. Suppose we wish to prove a /\ b ==> b /\ a using HOL's subgoal package 1]: 1 #g "a /\ b ==> b /\ a" ;; "a /\ b ==> b /\ a" The natural proof is to assume the antecedent a /\ b to be true and then deduce the succedent b /\ a from the assumed antecedent, which is called an assumption. In HOL there are, broadly speaking, two methods by which assumptions are manipulated. The rst method is to add the assumption to the assumption list of the goal: 2 #expand(DISCH_TAC);; OK.. "b /\ a" "a /\ b" ] and then prove the the conclusion of the goal using the assumption list: 3 #expand(ASM_REWRITE_TAC ]);; OK.. goal proved. |-b /\ a |-a /\ b ==> b /\ a

A note on spectral mapping theorem
This paper aims to present the well-known spectral mapping theorem for multi-variable functions.
متن کاملA short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving
In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...
متن کاملModeling of Infinite Divisible Distributions Using Invariant and Equivariant Functions
Basu’s theorem is one of the most elegant results of classical statistics. Succinctly put, the theorem says: if T is a complete sufficient statistic for a family of probability measures, and V is an ancillary statistic, then T and V are independent. A very novel application of Basu’s theorem appears recently in proving the infinite divisibility of certain statistics. In addition ...
متن کاملA New Common Fixed Point Theorem for Suzuki Type Contractions via Generalized $Psi$-simulation Functions
In this paper, a new stratification of mappings, which is called $Psi$-simulation functions, is introduced to enhance the study of the Suzuki type weak-contractions. Some well-known results in weak-contractions fixed point theory are generalized by our researches. The methods have been appeared in proving the main results are new and different from the usual methods. Some suitable examples ar...
متن کاملA Note on the Descent Property Theorem for the Hybrid Conjugate Gradient Algorithm CCOMB Proposed by Andrei
In [1] (Hybrid Conjugate Gradient Algorithm for Unconstrained Optimization J. Optimization. Theory Appl. 141 (2009) 249 - 264), an efficient hybrid conjugate gradient algorithm, the CCOMB algorithm is proposed for solving unconstrained optimization problems. However, the proof of Theorem 2.1 in [1] is incorrect due to an erroneous inequality which used to indicate the descent property for the s...
